In all things, discern profits from loss

Last Saturday, I had a discussion with my boss.

A few problems, but one prevalent item was about another sub-con in our Project.

Last June, the Korean Main Con, and I, together with sub-cons of other trade, discussed about "Roof Coordination", how to coordinate our equipment setting out with our pipework route.

We submitted our drawings, and I had to re-do the drawings myself, to suit the site conditions.

Apparently, a full coordinated drawing was made, and from there, equipment  plinths were constructed by the Main Con.

What happened this week was, one of the sub-con changed their pipe routing, and proceed their "new" pipework routing.

The pipework run exactly on top of my equipment's plinth. Not only that, their items were scattered all over the Roof floor, hence our team could not get our pump installed.

Last Thursday, I didn't went into full rage because previously I worked as an engineer in a HVAC contractor company. I knew the reason of them doing it. But deep inside, I feel wronged.

The Main-Con didn't take any action. Usually NCR (Non-compliance report) is issued, but here, they seem not to care.

"It's your own business. Not our problem. Go and discuss with that sub-con".

I informed my boss that Thursday of what happened and he instructed me to get it cleared.

Then, that evening, a Whatsapp Group was made by that sub-con, and discussions were made as if Main-Con had agreed the relocation.

I feel raged and wronged, but, since there were Clients, bosses, Consultants, and my own boss is in the Whatsapp Group, I had no choice but to tell them "we need time to look at it, send your Cad file so I can check".

The Saturday discussion with my boss, was mind-opening.

I told Boss, I had few pictures taken, and I will send a Memo to the Main Con saying about obstruction of our installation.

My boss plainly screwed me "You don't go around making enemies at site, ok?"

I was taken aback.

He lets me cool down, then explained to me about construction is basically a Business in nature.

And in Business, you don't simply screw off with other Business. You have to trade in, and you have to consider about the future. We might need other people's help.

In this problem, even though I was right, but business-wise, I have to let go my emotions and deal the issue strictly technical-wise.

We have to trade in, and to make sure everybody wins at the end.

I changed this blog "layout" because of this entry above.

Welcome to changes.

(Gelabah betul tulis panjang2 masa post entry ni earlier stage)

 (Chorus)

You'll see it's my fault
Angels stabbing me inside
Nothing changes
Just rearranges
For me this time

Remember

There are 3 special things on this week I want to remember.

5-minute date

In the movie Dilwale, due to their busy time schedule, the hero SRK asks heroine Kajol for a 5-minute date.

And so I did one. As a surprise. The only stupid thing about it, the date was in a KFC beside my fiancee's bakery shop.

But it was OK since KFC Malaysia sells mango juice, and my fiancee loves mango products terribly.

Hello Kitty as a present. Told her to hug it during sleep.
A simple plastic rose. A white heart-shaped box, with cheap necklace inside it.

I put my handwatch there to keep time.

I sms-ed her to come to KFC, 10 minutes prior to her finishing her job.

I just plainly told her, to meet up just for 5 minutes, like the movie Dilwale.

I was lucky the KFC branch wasn't full of people.

Just ordered 2 nos. of mango juice (Twister product). Didn't ordered any food or chocolate cakes since she was on diet.

She was surprised indeed when I gave her the single rose.

And her favourite mango juice.

Talked about her job that day. And some other minor stuff.

She asked why I did this, as other women I knew, who likes to question motives.

The key to answering those question is :- keep a simple plain "I don't give a damn" pokerface, and just say "I miss you".

As soon as she finished her drink, I accompanied her to her car.

Then went back.

I could see she waited. So I just turn my head to her, look at her for few seconds, then just went.

Total time taken : 15 minutes.

Million thanks to God, for making the sky clear with no rain at that exact time.

If it was raining, the simple 5-minute-date-magic will disappear.

Lessons in Life

After that I went to a book-shop.

Because it was raining heavily after that.

I bought this books.

Even though I'm an Arsenal fan, without doubt Alex Ferguson of Man U is the best football manager.

Up to this moment, I've read up to about how he felt about Roy Keane.

There are million lessons there from both books.

Remember

This week, I'm enchanted by this track.

I did cried listening to this remembering about my father who had passed away.

However, I still hate rap.

But the guitar melodies is beautiful. The lyrics and the video music is beautiful and passionate.

Thank you God for these moments are simple yet meaningful.

Million prayers for my dad who had passed away. May God forgives me, and may I see him thereafter with Salam (peace).

I miss him.

You never think you know

http://www.nst.com.my/news/2016/01/121846/construction-worker-killed-collapsing-crane-incident

PETALING JAYA: A construction worker was killed while three were injured in the collapsed crane incident at Jalan Damansara, here today. Fire and Rescue Department received a report at approximately 4.50pm and arrived at the scene 20 minutes later.

The victim is known as Li Ji Yia, 50 while those injured were of Myanmar and Chinese nationals which have yet to be ascertained.

Statistics of Construction Incidents

-----

This week, while Muslim Malays Malaysians were busy talking on social media about open breast-feeding, Be-Like-Rashid memes, and making noises and opinions about issues that they own selves unable to change,

I'm grieving by what happened some days ago. Someone lost his life while trying to earn money for his family.

I work in construction line.

Not just the bloody pressure and work shits, you know that somebody did lose his life on this line. It could be me, who knows?

----

And then Jakarta bombing happens on Thursday.

I was in a meeting when one of the Architects, suddenly informs all about the Jakarta attack during the meeting break.

----

I remember having Google Hangout chatting with one of the famous bloggers in Malaysia.

I asked him a question.

"Why there's more social ills in Malays society compared to Chinese, when, the Chinese Amois wore more sexy clothes, Chinese drink and gamble but Muslims Malays do not, why is that?"

He gave his reasons, which I wouldn't share here.

One question lingers within my head then.

"This week, a non-muslim in Malaysia died while working, while some Muslims in Indonesia died by killing policemen in public. How come?"

------

Cursed Earth, Cursed Earth, Cursed Earth, Cursed Earth

I will never feed off
The evergreen luster of your heart
All because we all live
In the valley of the walls

When we speak
We can peak from the windows
Of their mouths to see the land
The women chant as they fly up to the sun

You never think you know, why
Know, you never think you know, why
Know, ever think you know, why
Know, know, know

Books all say different things
While people flap their yellow wings
Trying to soar by being a whore of life
And almost everything

The sheep that ran off from the herd
May be dead but now's a bird
Able to fly able to die
Able to break your cursed earth

You never think you know, why
Know, you never think you know, why
Know, ever think you know why
Know

On the other side, the other side, other side
Do you ever try to fly, do you ever try to fly?
Have you ever wanted to die
You ever want to die?

Don't ever try to fly, don't ever try to fly
Don't ever try to fly
Unless you leave your body on the other side
Never try to die, you ever try to die.

Know, you never think you know, why
Know, you never think you know, why
Know, you never think you know, why
Know, ever think you know, why
Know

---------

In the end, I do not care of the answers.

What I did was, after I finished my prayers, I went to Youtube and enjoying these rock videos.

I became numb of all things that happened.

Because, I think,

even if we live in a corrupt world, even if every girls walk naked on the street,

talking, discussing, debating it would not change it all.
even bombing yourself to death would not change this world to utopia.

Just focus about being the best person doing the best you could for your loved ones.

Don't become a philosopher to change the world.

Just change your self to be a better person.

If you want a better Islamic world, then become a better Muslim.
Because to your loved ones, you are the world to them.

-----------

I'm following this :-

Now, since I felt relieved writing on this blog on thoughts that disturbed my mind,

I'm learning Sejati by Wings :-

---------------

For Malaysians Malay Muslims:-

I'm too lazy to update my other blog http://fir-9898-islam.blogspot.my/, I just share this video here.

I think I learnt a great deal by this video.
And I trying to practice something that he taught, this early morning.
Wish me luck.

And the book Petunjuk Sepanjang Jalan by Syed Qutb that he mentions,
you can find it here:-

One thing,
something that I learnt during my University days, when I join UM guys Tabligh 1 days and 3 days outing,

You will feel religion to be sincere if you do it for yourself.

People joining Tabligh knew this.
The Tabligh preaching is not to change the world, but to change your own innerself.

You go preach from house to house, the reasoning is not to change others, but more towards changing yourself.

Giving effort and hardship, will somehow change you from within.

It's never about changing other people.

the idea is despite the intensive preaching, those Quraisy who are close to the Prophet didn't embrace the religion, but people like Salman came from outright Persia just to learn the religion.

And so.

This is my personal opinion and idea.

Just change your self to be better, and you will find the world to be different.

And to the question I ask to the famous blogger,

I found the answer straight within my heart.

We Malays focus too much changing others, but we didn't work much to change ourselves.
