New Chapter - Geraldine Gan

I've been haunted by this track, it's been played frequently on LiteFM.

Searched using SoundHound but unable to find the song.

It was played tonite 23 Sept 11.15pm on LiteFM  when I was just starting to sleep, penned the lyrics slowly while listening, and googled the lyrics.

Finally found it!

Geraldine Gan Hwee Peng 颜慧萍 - New Chapter
Lyrics

Smoldered by the flames dreams crash and burn
Gold are in the ashes you will learn
Just as you thought all good things come to an end
That's when the new chapter just began
We have rambled through the thick and thin
What is marching brave beneath our skin
Be prepared for the roller coaster ride
Fret no my love
I'll be by your side

Your life is a vast and glowing empty page
Do anything you want
Laughters and the tears
You never should be idle with despair
I'm the glimpse of light
Which the darkness fears

You're the glare that's shining in the dark
Your name is gonna be tattooed in our hearts
Nothing is gonna change you for who you are
I love you my dear
Frustrated superstar

Your life is a vast and glowing empty page
Do anything you want
Laughters and the tears
You never should be idle with despair
I'm the glimpse of light
Which the darkness fears

I remember those good times
As well as the bad ones
Take one step at a time
You are larger than life
Time and after time
Weave the threads of sunlight
One day you will see
You will shine

Your life is a vast and glowing empty page
I'm the glimpse of light

FB, social media and Dunbar limit

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunbar%27s_number

Dunbar's number is a suggested cognitive limit to the number of people with whom one can maintain stable social relationships. These are relationships in which an individual knows who each person is and how each person relates to every other person.
This number was first proposed by British anthropologist Robin Dunbar, who found a correlation between primate brain size and average social group size.

By using the average human brain size and extrapolating from the results of primates, he proposed that humans can only comfortably maintain 150 stable relationships.

Proponents assert that numbers larger than this generally require more restrictive rules, laws, and enforced norms to maintain a stable, cohesive group. It has been proposed to lie between 100 and 250, with a commonly used value of 150. Dunbar's number states the number of people one knows and keeps social contact with, and it does not include the number of people known personally with a ceased social relationship, nor people just generally known with a lack of persistent social relationship, a number which might be much higher and likely depends on long-term memory size.

Dunbar theorized that "this limit is a direct function of relative neocortex size, and that this in turn limits group size ... the limit imposed by neocortical processing capacity is simply on the number of individuals with whom a stable inter-personal relationship can be maintained." On the periphery, the number also includes past colleagues, such as high school friends, with whom a person would want to reacquaint themself if they met again - Wikipedia

As I'm getting older, I found myself less and less reclining to keep relationships with people.

True friends are few and far between, I realised.

And I hate to know their political and personal inclinations as well. We are just social animals.

I believe in this Dunbar limit in my Facebook friends. However I limit it to just 50 - 60 people.

I never believe in Twitter, followers, or things I felt as "group dynamics" in social media.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_dynamics

I do not want to feel like a sheep following a herd, or a passenger missing a bus.

In fact, nowadays I no longer entertain emails or comments from whoever who reads this and that (beyondthispunkt.tumblr.com)

This social media, to me, just serve a single purpose. For reading. My own reading. No more, no less.

Practice makes perfect

Me : Sending mails and paperwork while having dinner just now

I made a practice of going to Sushi King at least once in a month.

Why?

Answer : Chopsticks.

I work in the construction industry, dominated by Chinese. In fact, I work in a Malaysian Chinese contractor company, where only 5 of us are non-Chinese.

And you have Main-Cons from Korea (the one I'm working with right now), Japanese, etc.

And most developers in Malaysia are not Bumi companies. (i'm saying this bluntly, frankly).

There will be times, when you have to join the teams for dinner.
Or at least during Chinese New Year.

Oh did you know, today is Lunar Festival for Korea, Japan and Chinese folks (Malaysian Chinese are eating mooncakes tonight, while the Koreans are enjoying sweetened Tteok, which is equivalent to Malaysian kuih koci).

Last Chinese New Year, I showed off my eating-with-chopstick skills in front of my bosses during lo-hei (Prosperity Toss) which is tossing the sweet yee sang.

Then I eat with chopsticks during the dinner session.

It's not really about showing off. It's about not being awkward when presented with a tool called chopstick.

And I have been training from year 2010 with chopstick at least once a month, at Sushi King even though there are doubts about the halal-ness of the soy sauce (I was told it was mixed with alcohol), or some other places where chopstick are served.

But nevermind with Sushi King, in the end I just ate rice, with chawamushi, miso soup and grilled salmon. And of course with the sushi's, especially the sweet beancurd.

Why does it have to be at Sushi King?

It is because I live in a Malay-majority community, for example like the photo above.

I ate the noodles with chopsticks in front of them folks and I felt weird.

In religion, if I ain't mistaken, it was told that it is not a good practice to be so "pelik" (too awkwardly different) or so not to arouse suspicion or backbiting by others. (something like this, I think)

And so I just sit quiet at the Sushi King feeling relax not to be bothered by others.

Maybe I'm just like that.

Colorless Bubu-chan and His Moments of Bathing and Grooming

 Unsuspecting

 Realising something is wrong

 Trapped

(Bathing. No Photos. Struggling. Frantic)

 Despair

Warmth within the cuddles of Master and Fate

Getting dry

An hour after cuddling and drying

 Accepting fate

 Grooming

Final touchup and grooming

After each despair comes great relief / gifts

 Life's like that.

pain, will you return it?

I'm in terrible pain now. So enjoy this.

Depeche Mode - Dream On

Can you feel a little love?

As your bony fingers close around me
Long and spindly death becomes me
Heaven can you see what I see

Hey you pale and sickly child
You're death and living reconciled
Been walking home a crooked mile

Paying debt to karma you party for a living
What you take won't kill you
But careful what you're giving

There's no time for hesitating
Pain is ready, pain is waiting
Primed to do it's educating

Unwanted, uninvited kin
It creeps beneath your crawling skin
It lives without it lives within you

Feel the fever coming you're shaking and twitching
You can scratch all over
But that won't stop you itching

Can you feel a little love?
Dream on dream on

Blame it on your karmic curse
Or shame upon the universe
It knows its lines, it's well rehearsed

It sucked you in, it dragged you down
To where there is no hallow ground
Where holiness is never found

Paying debt to karma you party for a living
What you take won't kill you
But careful what you're giving

Can you feel a little love?
Dream on, dream on

Death - Sacred Serenity

Wherever we go, whatever we do
Your shadow is not far behind our steps
And our breath
Protecting and watching all...
Observing spirits on the wall
What are they telling you?

Following all instincts that are pure
Oblivious to time that may be the cure

Sacred is the gift that they
have without knowing
Serenity is knowing it's safe
from destruction of time

Maybe we could take a step back
And discover what leads us to attack
Time that is short - distance unknown
For them, each day life has just begun
Observing spirits on the wall
What are they telling you?

Following all instincts that are pure
Oblivious to time that may be the cure

Sacred is the gift that they
have without knowing
Serenity is knowing it's safe
from destruction of time
